The mid-1970s. In the entrance of a multi-apartment building, the police find an elderly woman strangled. A lonely alcoholic with no enemies quickly gets labeled “hopeless,” and the investigation is aimed to be closed. However, a month later in the basement they discover a man brutally killed by multiple knife wounds. Soon, in her own apartment, they find another woman stabbed to death.
The last two crimes seem to repeat each other: traces of an army belt are left on the bodies, and the wounds were inflicted with a blade resembling a marine dagger. But what connects the dead—and why exactly did these people become targets? Baryshnikov digs into their past, unaware of the discovery that awaits him.
