In 1975, at Yaroslavsky Station, a train with a mail car full of valuable international parcels is preparing to depart. Four postal workers watch over the cargo, including a newcomer, Lenya Sedykh. Suddenly, the soldiers being discharged address the train foreman with a request to give them a ride, since they spent all their money and can’t buy tickets. The foreman decides to help them… At the next station, the police are urgently called to the train. The officers uncover a horrifying scene: the mail car has been looted, and the postal employees have been killed. Severely wounded, Lenya manages to pass the investigator a mysterious message—this becomes the only key to solving this brutal crime.
