Taylor Ebert is an ordinary girl who isn’t popular at school, but she has a secret: she possesses a superpower. In fact, in the world besides her, there are countless people with similar secrets (and for some, they’re not secrets at all), who are generally divided into heroes and villains—as well as neutral loners. Costumes, masks, nicknames instead of names, unwritten rules, politics, and dirty tactics are all part of it. During one of Taylor’s early sorties in costume, she’s mistakenly taken for a villain—throwing her into a world of constant confrontation between good and evil, where villains can work on socially useful missions and saving the world, and heroes aren’t always as pure as they want to appear. Everything Taylor can count on—new friends, common sense, and her unusual superpower that allows her to control insects.
