Taylor Ebert is an ordinary girl who isn’t popular at school, but she has a secret: she possesses a superpower. Of course, besides her, an enormous number of people in the world have similar secrets—ones that for some are even not secrets—who are usually divided into heroes and villains, as well as neutral lone wolves. Costumes, masks, nicknames instead of names, unwritten rules, politics, and dirty tactics are all part of the deal. In one of her first outings in costume, Taylor is mistakenly taken for a villain—throwing her into a world of constant conflict between good and evil, where villains can do publicly useful work and save the world, and heroes aren’t always as pure as they want to seem. All Taylor can count on is new friends, keeping a clear head, and an unusual superpower that lets her control insects.
