The Japanese School of the Arts Suimey is famous for its dormitory and house called “Sakurashō.” Life in the dormitory is regulated by a strict code of rules, but it’s totally different at “Sakurashō.” Here there are no prohibitions and no rules—which is exactly why people call it a mental hospital. “Sakurashō” houses unusual people who stand out from the crowd. That’s why life here is always interesting and fun.

Among them is the remarkable girl Misaki, who creates her own anime. There also lives the screenwriter Jin. A computer virtuoso who knows every corner of the network. And Sorata Kanda managed to move in among these extraordinary people only because of his mad love for cats. He earned a reputation as the only normal resident of “Sakurashō.” And of course, it was only a normal person that the dorm’s manager, Chihiro, could trust to meet her relative from Britain.
