The Japanese school of arts Suimei is famous for its dormitory and a house called “Sakurashou.” Dormitory life is governed by strict rules, but “Sakurashou” is a completely different matter. Here there are no prohibitions or regulations—so that’s why it’s also called a psychiatric ward. “Sakurashou” houses extraordinary people who stand out from the crowd. That’s exactly why it’s always interesting and fun here.
Among them is the remarkable girl Misaki, who creates her own anime. There’s also the scriptwriter Jin living here. He is a computer virtuoso and knows every corner of the network.
But Sorata Kanda could only move in among these rather extraordinary people thanks to his crazy love for cats. He earned his fame as the only “normal” resident of “Sakurashou.” And of course, only a normal person could have trusted the dormitory caretaker, Chihiro, to meet her relative from Britain.
Kanda is simply enchanted by the angelic appearance of the blonde Mashiro. She, too, lives in “Sakurashou,” but at a party she doesn’t rush to befriend his roommates. She is quiet, and everyone assumes it’s because she’s tired from the road.
In the morning, the young man decides to go see the new resident. He realizes he feels genuine sympathy for her. And here comes a real shock. First, Mashiro turns out to be a great artist. But drawing is the only thing she can do on her own. In everything else, she can’t even get dressed without help! Her sister, Chihiro, has found in Sorata the perfect babysitter for her—because he takes care of the cats very well…
