The Japanese Suimei Academy of the Arts is famous for its dormitory and the house called "Sakurasou." Dorm life is regulated by a strict set of rules, but Sakurasou is a completely different matter. There are no prohibitions or rules here, which is why it is called a madhouse. Extraordinary individuals who stand out from the crowd live in Sakurasou. Thanks to this, it is always interesting and fun there. Among them is the exceptional girl Misaki, who creates her own anime. The scriptwriter Jin lives there as well. The genius programmer Ryunosuke, who has a masterful command of computers and knows every corner of the web, also resides there. As for Sorata Kanda, he managed to settle among these very unusual people only because of his crazy love for cats. He has earned a reputation as the only normal resident of Sakurasou. And, of course, only a normal person could be entrusted by the dorm manager Chihiro with meeting her relative from Britain. Kanda was simply charmed by the angelic appearance of the fair-haired Mashiro. She also moved into Sakurasou, but at the party she was in no hurry to befriend its residents. She was taciturn, which everyone attributed to fatigue from the journey. In the morning, the young man decided to visit the dorm's new tenant. He realized that he felt a genuine sympathy for her. There a real shock awaited him. First, Mashiro turned out to be a great artist. But drawing was the only thing she could do on her own.
