The Stone Throne is a gigantic stone chair from which the god Lug himself once gazed over the Green Islands under his rule. But now the Stone Throne is free, and at its foot the struggle is boiling: foreign arrivals and local natives, ordinary people and immortal inhabitants of the Other World, fight for possession of the islands. At the steps of the Stone Throne meet Bjarni—formerly the slave’s son, and now the grandson of King Myada—and Torvard, the konung whom Bjarni must take revenge on for the death of his brothers. It seemed that on the Green Islands Bjarni had achieved everything—glory, honors, military victories, and the love of beautiful women. And in the very moment when he puts his foot on the sacred throne’s step, it’s time to answer himself: is this what he wanted? Or was it what he searched for beyond the seas that has been with him all along?
