A novice actor was incredibly lucky to get a supporting—but very important—role of Grand Duke Georgy Alexandrovich Romanov in a series about the youth of Nicholas II. The last evening in his hometown was supposed to be the beginning of a new life— the life of a film star of all-Russian scale—but the universe had other plans: our hero came to consciousness on the cruiser “Memory of Azov” in the middle of the voyage of the Tsarevich Nicholas Eastward. He woke up in the body of the person he was supposed to play in the series.
In the most literal sense: “to sink into the role!”
P.S. Authentic speeches from the characters of the late 19th century won’t be found here, but I’m trying to bring flavor to it.
