The Killer from the Past

The Killer from the Past

9 hrs. 0 min.
A gripping, almost documentary account of the terrible events that took place on Spitsbergen during the war makes a strong impression. The story begins in 1941, during the German occupation of Norway. In the northernmost part of the country, in remote and sparsely populated Sør-Varanger, colossal military forces—hundreds of thousands of German and Austrian soldiers—are concentrated within a few months. The situation is favorable to adventurers, criminals, traitors, and spies of all kinds. But one honest policeman carries out an desperate and hopeless struggle against chaos, doing his best to protect a just order. In these difficult times, he has to track down a cold-blooded and merciless murderer, whom he will never be able to catch. The criminal will slip away to the Spitsbergen archipelago. Half a century later, war veterans in the Arctic will gather to remember their youthful combat days. Everything suggests that the ruthless killer from the past has been hiding all this time and now has shown up at the meeting of old comrades. The evidence collected years ago ends up in the hands of the Spitsbergen police officer Knut Fjel. Will Fjel succeed in identifying and exposing the murderer?
