The adventures in the Shelter continue. It’s not easy for those who try to do harm to someone within its boundaries. Don’t envy the birdcatcher-poacher, who found both the ostrich tracks in the local woods and spotted a bird with a woman’s head—if you’re going to scare a villain, do it properly, even with the help of technical means and clever devices. And the guy who tried to make a little extra money by filming in neighboring courtyards and posting those videos online hid for a long time in the nettles, trying to escape an enraged girl he had tricked.
Unlucky too was the poacher fisherman who saw one and a half mermaids—one made from a stuffed seal, and another who turned out to be an ordinary woman who likes early swims. But the Shelter doesn’t only scare off outsiders and evil ones—it also protects its own, those who need help and protection. So it is with Pasha and Polina, whose parents almost sent them to different boarding schools: they stayed in the Shelter under the protection of their aunt and her husband—for Mишка’s joy and for all the other inhabitants of this amazing place.
