The Secret of the Golden Cross

Under a small church on the Sussex coast, a medieval Christian tomb is discovered—apparently belonging to a bishop. It was said that his body had been embalmed using a technique known to the Greeks and ancient Egyptians, but unknown in the West. In the tomb, they found a cross bearing a certain secret symbol on its reverse side—one that exists only on one other cross in the world. There was a legend about a curse placed on this cross, and it seems that the sinister prophecy is coming true. The owner of the cross is threatened by a mysterious stranger. Apparently, Father Brown is in for yet another full of mysticism and riddles investigation.
