Tai­ga Rei is the pen name of a writer working in the genre of heroic fantasy, gaining popularity thanks to her cycle of books “Stormy Hunt.” The series has a tilt toward Asian fantasy; the events described take place in a world resembling ancient China.

The main heroine, Waiyu Blåu, is given a chance to change her life—and the fate of her clan. The last living in her family, she ends up in prison and awaits execution. But ten of her ancestors expressed their readiness to give up their afterlife in the world beyond for the chance to correct the clan’s fate. And so Blåu—again a little girl—finds herself in a dark cave, bitten by scorpions. Her task is to survive, grow stronger, and not only prevent the clan from dying out, but also make it more resilient and numerous.

In the novel “The Ritual,” the third in the series “Stormy Hunt,” Waiyu Blåu continues her work and tries to restore the clan by bringing back everyone she can. But it turns out that those she brings close are betrayed or die. To achieve her goal, the heroine is even willing to agree to an engagement with a powerful owner of mighty artifacts. In addition, she keeps developing her level of magic.
