After Turkmenbashi’s death, the high-ranking official Yagmyr Purliev fled from Ashgabat and hid from the new Turkmen authorities in Moscow. Years passed. Purliev firmly established himself in Russia: he organized a profitable business, bought a luxurious car, and built a magnificent mansion in an upscale suburban settlement near Moscow. He became rich and respected—and completely forgot his native Turkmenistan. But then everything changed at once. Purliev noticed he was being followed and decided that employees of Turkmenistan’s state security were pursuing him again. He turned to the detective Drongo and asked him to find out what Turkmen authorities actually wanted from him. After all, so many years had passed…
