A major businessman, Pashkov, gathered guests at a country villa to celebrate Old New Year—so to speak, an inner circle. But shortly before the festivities began, Pashkov was found murdered in his room. The most obvious version seems to be a random killing—someone stole in unnoticed, got caught by Pashkov, stabbed him, and then fled. But the famous expert Drongo, asked to unravel the case, finds out that that evening the villa hosted people who are usually called “long-time enemies”—too many old scores separated them.
