Mikhail Karpov is still in the USA. He can’t return to the USSR—at the first appearance, he’ll be seized and, at best, sent to prison. In the worst case—even hard to imagine.

Karpov is a man from the future. He has information and knowledge that are too valuable. That makes him extremely dangerous for the highest leadership of the Soviet Union—just like for those who pull the strings behind the scenes. Sooner or later, they will want to get rid of him. And if the government has the will, its hands can easily reach even into the States.

But Mikhail has already been taught by bitter experience. If someone tries to catch him, he will hand the Americans information about the Soviet leadership. And if he can’t—his friends will deliver his manuscript to where it needs to go. Then there will be so much noise and filth that the leading officials of the USSR won’t be able to wash themselves clean for all eternity. The situation is a deadlock for both sides: there can’t be a winner here. And the future of a huge country is once again balanced on an unstable scale…
