What will first come to our modern man’s mind when he wakes up in a burning train car? A disaster or a terrorist attack. But—nope. Congratulations, buddy—you got it!
Exactly 70 years earlier, under German air raids.
It’s 1941. In your pocket there’s a bunch of fan money instead of real cash and a passport for which you could very easily be shot against a wall. In your head there are fragments of historical knowledge and a half-forgotten military accounting specialty acquired back in the Soviet Army… So what do you do now?
Rush to the Kremlin to talk to Stalin, open his eyes to the future, help with advice, warn, forewarn? But Stalin is far away, and the wall is much closer—with panic-makers and deserters, they don’t beat around the bush here…
So for starters, try to simply survive. Maybe it will work? And if you’re lucky enough to meet, on the broken road, an SТЗ tractor with an anti-aircraft gun—join the crew, get your baptism of fire, shoot down “tanks” (aerial targets) and “messers,” burn German tanks, haul the gun over the autumn mud with your own back, breaking out of the “kettle”… But don’t hope to change history—that’s beyond human power.
All you can do is share your people’s common fate. And remember: even if you’re lucky enough to escape the hell of the front and return to the 21st century, you’ll never be the same again…
