A team from the Institute of Unexplained Research is invited to the Orenburg region, where a huge black shadow has covered an entire city. There’s no connection with local residents, and the equipment inside the shadow doesn’t work. The military managed to find several entry “corridors” and penetrate the city, but not everyone was able to return. The shadow is growing, and keeping what’s happening secret is becoming harder and harder—but evacuating several thousand people is impossible, and leaving them inside the phenomenon is too dangerous: giant insects roam the streets of the city locked in darkness, and poisonous mold spreads over the walls of the houses. There’s less and less time to make a decision, and more and more questions…
