Thuvia, Maid of Mars

The main characters are Carthoris, son of John Carter, and Thuvia, princess of Ptarth.
The novel is similar to the previous ones: the main plot-forming structure is the abduction of a Martian princess. Thuvia, princess of Ptarth, is betrothed to Kulan Tith, ruler of Kaol, but she is devotedly loved by John Carter’s son Carthoris. At the same time, Prince Astok of Dusar courts her and ultimately abducts Thuvia. Carthoris finds her in the ancient ruined city of Aaanthor, where the headquarters of Torkas’s green horde is located. On the way to Helium, Carthoris and Thuvia come to the city of Lothar, where descendants of the white Martians live, having extraordinarily developed their telepathic abilities. They are capable of creating physically tangible phantoms, who primarily serve as warriors.
Meanwhile, the abduction of Thuvia has brought Helium to the brink of war with Kaol and Ptarth, since Carthoris was accused of the kidnapping. In the finale of the novel, the noble Kulan Tith joins the hands of his former fiancée and Carthoris.
