The plot tells of the Grail War—erroneously copied from the Third Grail War of Fuyuki. After the Third Grail War ends, members of a magical organization in the United States, independent from London’s Association of Magi, gather data about the Grail War in Fuyuki and plan to begin their own ritual. After seventy years of planning, they selected the city of Snowfield, California—north of Las Vegas—as their Sacred Ground for conducting their Grail War. The choice was made because of the surroundings: forests, swamps, valleys, and deserts located favorably for performing the ritual. However, they couldn’t successfully reproduce every aspect of the ritual, which led not to a full Grail War, but only an imitation. For this reason, the Saber class was lost, and the concept of “hero” was erased—allowing the summoning of unusual Servants. (c)
