The plot tells of the Grail War, mistakenly copied from the Third Grail War of Fuyuki. After the end of the Third Grail War, members of a magical organization from the United States, independent of the London Association of Magicians, collected data about the Grail War in Fuyuki and plan to begin their ritual. After seventy years of preparation, as a Sacred Land for conducting their own Grail War, they selected the city of Snowfield in the state of California, north of Las Vegas. The surrounding forests, swamps, valleys, and deserts made it ideal for the ritual. However, they were unable to recreate every aspect of the ritual successfully, which led not to a full Grail War but only to an imitation. For this reason, the Saber class was lost, and the very concept of “hero” was erased—making it possible to summon unusual Servants.
