There’s no peace in the Universe! In the corporate war in which combat-robot pilot Jack Stenton takes part, a "third force" intervenes: inhuman beings attack all sides of the conflict indiscriminately. The government’s special services manage to obtain information about a planned alien landing—once they controlled the planets of the sector and used people as slaves. The aliens have a network of long-conserved underground bases where garrisons still remain. All corporate wars have stopped, and the best units of former opponents are transferred under the command of the Ministry of Defense.
