The world in which sixteen-year-old schoolgirl Tanya lives—she has chosen the nickname “Nikita”—is truly awful. There they curse and lie, rape and kill, don’t trust friends and don’t hope for their parents, yet somehow they manage to live. After all, life is given only once, and every person tries to make it better than it is. And with a strong character, even an orphan who isn’t needed by anyone can break through into the light. On the road to happiness, the heroine has to make all sorts of choices that won’t seem acceptable to everyone. © Viktor Ulin 2020 — photo. © Viktor Ulin 2021 — cover design. Contains profanity.
