Anatoly Rybakov (1911–1998) is a Russian Soviet writer, author of the famous tetralogy “Children of Arbat,” as well as a trilogy about the adventures of Mishka Polyakov, which became a cult favorite among Soviet children and teenagers. It consisted of novels “The Dirk,” “The Bronze Bird,” and “A Shot.”

The books were adapted into films; the films based on them became popular and were shown many times.

We present in audio format the third book of another series by the author—“Krosh’s Adventures,” for which films were also made. The book is called “The Unknown Soldier.” Curious and honest little Krosh gets carried away by investigating mysterious incidents. In this book, now grown up, he works on the construction of a new road. After discovering the grave of an unknown soldier, the hero becomes determined—by any means necessary—to find out the name of the fallen.

The events of the investigation alternate with retrospectives of harsh and tragic events of the Great Patriotic War. In the end, the truth will be revealed—but the situation is such that not everyone will want to let Krosh know part of it.
