Konstantin Zaitsev is a science-fiction writer, author and co-author of several popular book series. One of his best-known projects is the cycle of novels in the action fantasy genre “The Book of Five Rings.” The series was created in the setting of “us i” (martial-arts manga style), where magic is combined with Eastern martial arts; it also includes elements of the now-fashionable literary trend of bojar-anime, where the main intrigue is built on the confrontation between aristocratic clans in a world of magic.
“The Book of Five Rings” has gained recognition both in Russia and abroad, having been translated into English. We present, in an audio format, the third novel of this cycle.
Yan Voronov is a champion of no-rules fighting. One day, an opponent lands a fatal blow—after which the hero is unexpectedly offered a deal: to pass the remainder of his power to his friend Ignat for revenge. In return, the hero must spend three years in the body of another person—an Asian teenager Vu Yan. The experience of a mature fighter and the young body, along with the magic inherent to that world, make Yan a unique warrior, but he has a lot to learn and understand. He will have help from an inner voice that often interferes in the hero’s thoughts and feelings—able to reach his ancestors’ memories and explain what is happening far better than those around him.
In the third volume, Vu Yan and his battle sister Meilin go to the Night Guard. That’s where the hero will be able to prepare best for the war and understand all its dark sides, all its brutality. One of the tasks the hero’s squad will have to perform is suppressing a rebellion. And no one can be trusted, because a conspiracy is brewing in the Empire. Waiting for the continuation? Listen!
