Konstantin Zaytsev is a science-fiction writer, author and co-author of several popular series of books. One of his most well-known projects is the cycle of novels in the genre of combat fantasy “The Book of Five Rings.” The series is created in the setting of “wuxia,” where magic is combined with Eastern martial arts. There are also elements of the fashionable today bojars-and-anime literary trend, where the main intrigue is based on the confrontation of aristocratic clans in a world of magic. “The Book of Five Rings” has been recognized both in Russia and abroad, and has been translated into English. We present in audio format the first novel of this cycle.
Yan Voronov is a champion in no-rules fighting. One day an opponent delivers a fatal blow—after which the hero is unexpectedly offered a deal: to pass along the remainder of his power to his friend Ignat for revenge, but in exchange the hero must survive for three years in the body of another person—the Asian teenager Yan Wu. The experience of a mature fighter and the young body, as well as the magic inherent to that world, make Yan a unique warrior, but he has to learn and understand a lot.
He will be helped by an inner voice that often interferes with the hero’s thoughts and feelings—it can reach the memory of his ancestors and explains what’s happening much better than the people around him.
Details are in the audiobook.
