It all started when the local nobody, Walter Trierne, whose hands had grown warts, rinsed them in a spring. And the warts disappeared. Right away, some Miss Kost announced that after drinking spring water she had gotten rid of asthma. The spring became “holy,” and local people started making money from pilgrims. Years passed. And the new owner, who inherited these lands, decides to investigate the “holiness” of the spring and put an end to the “illegal profit” made on people’s faith in healing.
