Detective Roy Grace returns from a trip to the capital and immediately faces a murder case that, at first glance, seems purposeless. During the investigation, it becomes clear that the trail leads to a local drug lord who by profession is a lawyer. However, this main suspect has the ability to manipulate people, turning them into his puppets—making his exposure extremely difficult. Roy realizes that the drug lord’s influence is far wider than he had assumed. During the trial, the jurors face strong pressure from unknown forces, especially on the forewoman, Meg. She is threatened with death if she tells anyone what’s happening, and she is promised harm to her daughter if she doesn’t get an acquittal verdict. Meg is desperate, even though the evidence against the accused seems unshakable.
