The events in this light novel take place in a world that is almost lifeless, where all around are deserts inhabited by insect-like monsters... but what about people? Humanity is forced to live in mobile cities protected by defensive domes. And in order to distribute natural resources according to the rules, people came up with an original solution: they hold competitions between cities. Therefore, in each mobile city, special attention is given to the military training of future contest participants.
And one day, a newcomer named Leifon Alseif appears at the academy of the city of Zenri. This kid has simply incredible combat abilities, but despite that, he chooses a peaceful specialty. Yet destiny cannot be escaped: he is transferred to the Faculty of Military Arts and enrolled in the 17th unit. This is a special unit, because it is believed that it gathers all the failures from the academy. Getting to know his new partners better, he realizes that each of them has their own unique story... And he himself changes in a big way his attitude toward battles.
