Many forms of magical art are forbidden; the techniques of developing one’s gift have been lost. The priests of the Seven, noble families, and renowned schools carefully hide such knowledge. Magical science has fallen into decline, leaving only fragments of earlier learning—only elemental magic and healing remain. Unfortunately, to master these aspects, an aspiring mage needs a well-developed source. What will someone who has dreamed of magic since childhood do if their gift is too weak? Will they give up the dream, or find their own path?
