There are people who find problem after problem where it seems almost impossible. They get only one chance in a hundred to end up in trouble. Usually such people are called losers. Or, more delicately, unlucky ones. Matvey’s grandmother called her grandson another way—“Troublesome.”
One day Matvey received a delivery order to bring food and went into a strange apartment where a dying old woman “rewarded” him with a hist—a special gift. Matvey’s assistant now is a demon, Gregory, and the hero learns about the existence of a world invisible to many, where all sorts of unclean spirits and otherworldly beings live. Those who can see this world are called “border-watchers.”
Now Matvey is a specialist in getting rid of filth. Though more often than not, he simply knows how to negotiate with it, so his clients’ problems are solved quickly. But don’t relax—because a horrifying vurdalak is following the hero, summoned by his enemies, and other nastinesses are being prepared against him as well. So he can only hope for luck. And as we remember, luck used to be not very… on the hero’s side.
