In this part, I’ll begin telling how, in illegal intelligence work, husband and wife operate as a pair in practice—how the conditions of combat affect tactics and methods. The answer to the question of how interests of the family and service are balanced will unfold through specific combat episodes from the experience of illegal intelligence. It’s a work of fiction, but it’s based on real events—real combat episodes. The events, people, and actions don’t always match the ideas about illegal intelligence formed on the basis of the great Russian cultural heritage of the Soviet period on this topic; they differ from the best Western works of literature and cinema. At the same time, although the events of this part describe the mid-zeros period, the book’s heroes are your contemporaries. Recommendation: if you didn’t like the previous parts of the book, it’s better not to buy this one. Is the husband-and-wife partnership an advantage or a drawback?
