In the novel «Simeon the Proud» the story covers events of the mid-14th century and the fate of Simeon the Proud—son of Ivan Kalita the Great—who managed under the difficult conditions of his reign (1341–1353) to consolidate his father’s state acquisitions, prevent aggression from the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, and thereby strengthen the position of the Moscow Principality as the center of Vladimir Rus. This is the fourth book in the cycle «Moscow Rulers».
