In my surroundings, July-taiga stretches on—the air is thick with the scent of pine needles. I’m a gamekeeper who knows these places like the back of my hand, heading out to hunt wild boar. Then—there’s a gunshot, and everything plunges into darkness. When I come to, I find myself in the body of a seventeen-year-old boy named Max. Now I live in the fragile body of this sick guy, whom the locals avoid. On my hands are crimson hunter’s tattoos. I have to catch my first beast, survive, and support my family. I must adapt in this insane world, where people hide behind unstable walls, trying to make it through, and forests are teeming with magical creatures. I will become a real Beast-Catcher and put all my skills to use. With my knowledge and the “Beast Codex,” it’s entirely within my power. After all, forests are pretty much the same everywhere—you just have to learn to read them. And that’s exactly what I do best.
