A naked girl is found frozen to death atop an old pine tree in the middle of a snow-covered forest. There are no signs of murder, and the police consider it—even if very strange—a nevertheless unfortunate accident. However, the forensic expert doesn’t believe this version and seeks help from an old friend: the legendary profiler Nikolay Forsov. Only Forsov himself, because of illness, can no longer hunt criminals. He sends his students to a village lost among the snowdrifts, where they must unravel the mystery of the girl’s death. They have nothing—just like the police—except the skill of understanding the quirks of the human soul.
