Andrey Konstantinov covers the period from 1991 to 1996—the heyday of the initial accumulation of capital in Russia.
The novel “The Journalist” tells the story of Andrey Obnorsky, a translator who worked, with breaks, in South Yemen and Libya from 1985 to 1991. After returning to his homeland, Obnorsky began working for the youth newspaper of Saint Petersburg and covered crime. It was to him that the dossier on Antibiotic (Antibiotic—nickname/name) was handed over by Sergey Chelishchev, who later died. The image of Obnorsky is autobiographical.
