“The Fair in Sokolniki” is the most famous novel by Friedrich Neznansky, which launched the “Turkish March” series. In a novel set during the days when the country still mourns the death of L. I. Brezhnev, the reader first meets the investigator of the Moscow prosecutor’s office, Merkulov, his trainee Turtsky, Captain Gryaznov, and other heroes of the “Turkish March” cycle.
