Choosing a Path

A village district officer Vasily Kaganov is sent to work in the village of Kuckino, hidden in the deep hard-to-reach forests of Tver region. To Moscow—200 km, to the district center—20, civilization is close by, but… everything is not so simple. In these woods live those who have remained from the old epic times—people from whom those in the towns have read about in folk tales. And of course—those in whom a normal, civilized person doesn’t believe. But whether you believe or not, there is something in the world that doesn’t depend on your faith. And soon Vasily will find that out.

Whether he will stay on the bright side, becoming a sorcerer, whether he will slide into the Darkness—or whether he will continue to balance on the boundary between Light and Darkness—time will tell.
