The Enemy of My Enemy

Thousands of years ago, a technologically advanced Earth Empire created a portal that opened a path for people to deep space. The side effect was a distortion of time and space that connected several parallel realities. In our time, the empire’s space travelers decided to return to Earth—only to find themselves in a completely different world from the one they had left. The locals are ready to resist the armada of the Space Empire, and on their side stand the water-people—strange beings from yet another neighboring world. Major of State Security Sergey Danilov is a man with unusual skills and white spots in his biography. He doesn’t believe in the water-people’s altruism, so he helps the imperial scouts find out who lured their fleet into a trap and why. The case turns out to be so serious that even spies from the space Commonwealth of Harmora—an eternal enemy of the Empire—join Danilov and the scouts. A team of former enemies must work hard to uncover the water-people’s plans. Otherwise, the matter could end in war across all related realities—including the one where they know the real biography of “Danilov.”
