In 1470, King Edward of York was forced to leave England. Queen Elizabeth and her children fled in fear to Westminster Abbey. Even though the Lancasters seized power, the Yorks did not stop fighting.

Seeking to reclaim the throne, Edward makes an alliance with the Duke of Burgundy, Charles the Bold, and receives a small army of mercenaries and a fleet.

On the coast of the Humber River lies the city of Ravenspur—meaning “Raven’s Spur.” It was here, seventy years earlier, that another claimant to the throne, Henry Bolingbroke, landed and founded the House of Lancaster. Edward hopes to repeat his success by starting his campaign from this very place. His confidence is strengthened by the fact that Ravenspur lies on the border of Yorkshire, his ancestral lands. He believes the cities of Yorkshire will welcome their king with open arms.
