Sergey Belov achieved significant success by climbing the next step of the social ladder, but in doing so he set in motion forces he still has no idea about. Having begun to return lands lost to people one and a half centuries ago, he chose a dangerous path in which all the major forces of the ugly neo-feudal world—spawned by the consequences of the Other War—will see him as a rare resource and valuable prize. Of course, Sergey is, more or less, ready for such a turn of events—yet can he be sure that this is where the circle of problems and dangers waiting ahead will end?
