The reign of Emperor Paul I didn’t last long. He ascended the throne in November 1796 and was assassinated by conspirators in March 1801. One can only speculate—how would the history of our country have changed if the conspiracy of guards’ officers, paid for with British gold, had ended in failure? It’s quite possible that there would have been no bloody wars with Napoleon Bonaparte, Moscow wouldn’t have burned, and Russia would have stayed out of the pan-European war.
A group of FSB special forces soldiers “Grad” and civilians from the 21st century somehow were transported into March 1801. And now the fate of the unfortunate emperor and of all Russia is in the hands of these polite “speckled” people.
