Joseph Henri Roni the Elder (real name: Joseph Henri Honoré Boex, 1856–1940) was a French writer of Belgian origin, the author of adventure prose and novels about humankind’s prehistoric past, and one of the founders of the science fiction genre. Until 1909, he wrote together with his younger brother, Séraphin-Justen-François, who later adopted the pseudonym Joseph Henri Roni the Younger.
