Joseph Henri Roni the Elder (real name—Joseph Henri Honoré Boëx, 1856–1940) is a French writer of Belgian origin, author of adventure prose and novels about the prehistoric past of humankind; one of the founders of the science fiction genre. Until 1909 he wrote together with his younger brother Seraфин-Жюстен-Франсуа, who later took the pseudonym Joseph Henri Roni the Younger. The audio version offered here is an adventure novel “Vamiréh” (1892). A young warrior—whose name is also the title of the book—explores the wild world around him.
