But not everyone has accepted this situation. A conspiracy is ripening within the U.T.C.

The mage’s apprentice Pantor flees North to escape the law. He is being pursued by an enforcer of magical oversight. The young mage is to be sentenced for a crime he hasn’t committed.

Unexpectedly, both the fugitive and the pursuer find themselves drawn into the coming coup. Without even understanding it, they become nearly key figures in the conspiracy.
