Ivan Podushkin is panicking! His landlady, Eleanor, owner of the detective bureau “Niro,” has gone to the hospital for an operation. Need has pressed Vanya up against the wall. To justify the high trust of his mistress, he has to investigate the murder of their would-be client, Lera, on his own. And to make matters worse, the crazy relatives of Nora suddenly arrive, and along with them—Vanya’s mother, too, what a “gift”!
But all this domestic chaos didn’t stop Podushkin from quickly finding the culprit. It turned out to be Lera’s husband, who supposedly committed suicide and has been listed among the dead for many years. But Vanya started doubting his guilt—and he was right. As it turned out, a large number of very interesting ladies are involved in the case. And many of them, after Podushkin’s visit, went to join their ancestors. At last, at the end of the tunnel, a light appeared—the saving light! Many of the murdered had a common acquaintance with the nickname Masik. All that remained was to find him. And that turned out to be extremely difficult: someone unseen keeps putting sticks in Podushkin’s wheels…
