At the court of Oleg the Wise, a wondrous miracle appeared—a giantess from the Ungarian mountains, a daring warrior maiden. Once upon a time, Gorynya was an ordinary girl, but her enormous height didn’t let her live like everyone else: her family considered her a foundling, and her suitors laughed at her. Not by her own will, Gorynya left her native home and set off to find happiness and her share of fate.
Like in a fairy tale, she ends up first in a witch’s cottage among the dark forest, then in the lair of her forest brothers—the “wolves,” and then in the city of Kyiv. The depiction of Oleg the Wise is unusual: the wise prince appears here as a successful but tired man, a father concerned about the future of his children—especially his beloved but mischievous younger daughter, Brunhild-Stoislav.
At her request, Oleg hires the strong warrior Gorynya for service, not suspecting that she appeared here by no accident. Gorynya brought Brunhild the long-awaited news from faraway places and must help her find her love.
Passion, revenge, ambition, courage, and spells will collide in a magical quarrel-night, and by dawn someone will find happiness, while someone will lose everything…
