The Strogoffs

The epic novel "Strogovs" unfolds in Siberia in the early 20th century. Through the lens of the life of the peasant Strogov family, the author shows all the key historical events of that era: the Russo-Japanese War, World War I, and the October Revolution of 1917. The novel’s main hero, Matvey Strogov, follows a path from a peasant bee-keeper to the commander of a partisan detachment, with honor enduring all the hardships and trials of life. "Strogovs" received the State Prize of the USSR, and the film based on it broke all records of audience popularity.
