The government of the newly formed Earth Federation, expecting a repeat invasion (and no one doubts that it will happen), turned its attention to the Moon as a staging ground for space development. Thousands of new colonists, major companies, and military specialists poured onto the natural satellite. Never before had people carried out such ambitious projects beyond Earth. And it seemed that cosmic expansion was no longer far off—but the thirst for power and money provokes an internal conflict. Mikhail must survive on the besieged Moon and continue creating new technologies at the intersection of biological and electronic components, and even build spacecraft. He must prepare the best military unit in the Solar System and, when an unknown enemy returns, prove by force the right of the Earth Federation to exist.
