The First Stalker played a cruel joke on a former criminal authority—making him lovefully “kin” with the Zone. The Tsar’s gift to control electrical anomalies turned into a curse, erecting an impassable wall of Velés, cutting him off from the ordinary world beyond Chernobyl.
Velés opens the season of revenge, and there is only one target—legendary First Stalker, whose tongue wouldn’t dare call a man. He maimed Velés’s carefree life, took away his best friends to the afterlife. And now it’s time to gather the stones. Between the opponents there’s a lot in common, though it’s not noticeable at first meeting with the hero. The bandit wants to understand himself, to painfully make sense of the inhuman part granted to him by the Zone, in order to surpass the main enemy.
Not only people accompany the lord of lightning. Besides meeting the excellent fighter Valdis and the emotional Nar-k, fate brought Velés together with his beloved Olya. Always somewhere nearby are black dogs, with whom you can communicate mentally. And the loyal mutant ally Izya helps Velés understand the Zone when logic is useless.
But the main thing is to destroy the root of evil—the First Stalker—who sent Velés’s prosperous fate crashing. A thirst for revenge spins the wheel of fate, permanently changing the face of the Zone. Fate will give Velés a chance to settle accounts with the Chernobyl creature. Sometimes defeating an enemy requires an unexpected move… An unconventional solution tips the scales in Velés’s favor.
